President & Wealth Advisor

Rob is President and principal architect of the firm’s highly personalized and comprehensive Wealth Management service. Rob serves as the lead advisor for all the firm’s clients, which include corporate tech executives of all stripes, business owners, entrepreneurs, successful professionals, and individuals and families (including a specialty in solo agers).

Rob delights in making a difference in his clients’ lives. His passion is to partner with clients, empowering them to clarify goals, discern next steps, and get into action. Rob is an experienced behavioral investment counselor and serves as both a coach and advocate for his clients. Rob enjoys collaboratively working with clients, bringing a fresh perspective that allows them to generate inspiration and create new possibilities for themselves. He has expertise in helping clients create healthy personal and money relationships (both with children and aging parents) in their family.

Rob is a graduate of Princeton University and holds a master’s degree in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. After college, Rob spent 18 years in local tech companies, including startups and mature companies before transitioning to advising. Professionally, he is active in the Silicon Valley chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), where he serves on the program committee and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), where he has been designated as a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor.
Rob has trained other fee-only financial planners at several NAPFA regional conferences. One of Rob’s financial-planning case studies was used for the capstone course in financial planning at the University of Georgia. As a member of the National Association of Investor’s Corp. (NAIC), Rob developed investor education-curriculum and taught investment classes for the San Francisco chapter. Rob has also served as a mentor for the Silicon Valley Planned Giving Council’s Incubator Program, helping local non-profits develop their planned giving strategies.
Rob enjoys skiing, tennis, and backpacking with his wife, Catherine of 35 years. He is an active member and past director of the Palo Alto Rotary Club and is a past President of the Woodside High School Foundation. Rob & Catherine have two adult children and have also served as foster parents, successfully supporting two foster teens in graduating from high school and moving on to college.
